scibor & stamp/relief-ing

How to convert or sculpt a miniature? How to make a decent base or even a full diorama?!

well said! :clap:
just wanted to say one more thing: I'm afraid that all people who type and say jealous comments or opinions about Scibor's miniatures didn't see him at work;
I had a pleasure to watch him sculpting last friday and saw MANY sculpted projects and commissions which are not photographed... he is damn talented sculptor and no stupid, childish opinion will change that;

As far as I can see... scibor can stamp well - but his pure modelling skills are not really astonishing :D
Just my 2 cents... when I see his stamps: Awesome
But when I see something like a coat ore anything else, that's not stamped: Hm well... not so fine ;)

Lets see how he can paint...

ok i wanted to post it earlier but then didnt because i could offend someone...I will post it now:

"why does the creafigsthread and the upcoming article appear to me like: 'look, scibor is crap! everyone can do it' - and not an article to help others..."

also the racist statement in that thread on creafig was quite breathtaking....

ahhh...the arrogance....

omg this his also on CMON and i just can say... now i know who i shall avoid.... they even talk about who started some sort of war... gezz i think people dont notice the importance and the place of painting sculpting miniatures( its a freaking obscure hobby with almost no social relevance)... its like that all of the suden all pros are picking with each other... klute/alexi just recently and ciril /scibor.... sad days.

well more reason to stay just here having a good time with CofC folks :)

man, can't everyone just drop this useless debate... it's a just hobby for crying out loud. People seem to forget that. Let everyone do what they do best and stop crying about it.

What I think (and my point of view must be important as I am the site's admin ;) ;) ) is that:

Scibor has a way of making quick conversions - why not use it to make stuff for sale. If people wished to pay me for minis with paint "stamped" on them - well, I wouldn't object... No one should criticize him for that.

OTOH if I was selling "stamp-painted" minis I would still like to paint a mini every now and then, for fun and for training. And well - he does it too. We've all seen his nice rhinoxes, his sculpts for his planned miniatures range. So, hey, give this guy some rest! He can sculpt, and he deserves respect for his skills. Most of us can't do it as well as he does. He also developed a way of making fast conversions which are sold easily - and he should be respected for his idea. Not because the conversions are the top of his skill, but because they are good enough to be easily sold.

Or are you simply envious?

Maybe the attitute would be more friendly if Scibor participated in the discussions more actively? Maybe if he gave some hints and explanations instead of only showing his works? Well, his choice, but I think there are far too many people negative about him. Much more than he seems to deserve.

I know where is the problem.
Some people put art and craft in the same pot.
So, offended artists, don't scream at Scibor, because he probably never thought abouth his prints that "it is my work of art". (Probably earlier painters reacted in a similar way to computer graphics)

IMHO This is natural evolution in the field of new technics being used in art. :P
BTW - designing and making the prints can be art. Like woodcut and copied pictures. But the same said Mahon :D

I don't understand why someone talks about this metod with so much scorn.
And I think that some should understand that around us there are hobbyists, and people who want to make money on this trade.
But making money on minis, doesn't mean these people don't enjoy their work. Most of people who earn this way, used to treat it like hobby, and this doesn't change for them.
I am very happy that my work is my passion, but to be able to earn for living with it, you sometimes need to co something commerially profitable.

And I agreed with ToMaz :D
