Mierce Miniatures (former BaneBeasts/BaneLegions)
Re: BaneBeasts/BaneLegions
Ben did excellent job painting that Krull.
Re: BaneBeasts/BaneLegions
It’s taken us a little longer than we wanted to get everything ready, but we can now reveal that (almost) each and every component for all of our BaneLords miniatures will be able to be bought separately, from the Maelstrom Games webstore, from today – with the BaneBeasts Bits following next week!
So if you’ve been searching forever for that particular weapon for a conversion, need a crocodilian body to start a crazy miniature of your own, want a different standard for your command group or even just fancy Kraan’s bear without Kraan – well, now you can get those components and much more besides. On this website you can now see all the various components for our BaneLords on each miniature’s page – see below, too – but on the Maelstrom Games webstore you can get your hands on each and every component (well, there’s a few components that simply don’t make sense to offer individually) organised into body parts and weapon parts and accoutrements and so forth, just to make it easier for you to pick out what you need.

Future releases’ components will be released in the last Saturday of the month of the miniature release. As an example for the non-gobblydegook speaker, Megálávra is due for release on the 7th of April, and his components will therefore be released on the 28th of April. Got that? Good!
So, if you’re a keen fantasy modeller, take a peek at the BaneLords Bits range (and, indeed, the BaneBeasts bits range next week) and see if any bits and pieces take your fancy. It’s never been easier to get hold of some conversion bits for your fantasy miniatures!

Review of Purchase - Vilthiss
Just purchased Vilthiss because who doesn’t need a snake thing that is straight of a Ray Harryhausen movie.
I was impressed with elements of the cast. The body and tail elements were well done – the detailing on the armor and the battle damage on it is very realistic. There are a lot of belts with buckles on them that are very well sculpted. The snake body is finely detailed and crisply cast. The mold lines are hidden and I cannot see them except for a small one on the tail that I think some liquid GS will clear and one under the neck. The head piece is well cast and very finely detailed though I did think it was a little small for the body – but I was quite impressed.
The sword and the arms are one piece. There is a fair degree of flash on it but nothing that a knife won’t deal with very quickly. I liked the sword and the scratches sculpted into it - as someone who cannot paint those in and make them look good it made me happy. There are some areas that need clean up – a few minimal mold lines and a small couple of pieces of resin that need cutting out that the mold allowed through to another area.
They included a resin plain base. It was a piece of crap – warped to heck. I don’t know why they did that – should have just include a GW plastic base.
Not 100% impressed with the bit of resin left behind from the pouring of the mold in a few places. Could have been left in better places.
Overall, I would give it an A. The defects are really minor and just simple clean up. As a reference point I would say better quality and less clean up than FW kits. Less mold lines and clean up than a GW space marine.

Currently painting 15mm's with an extremely large brush - one step away from dipping them in the pot.
