here is the finished version of a WiP that I posted some time ago. I'm very, very pleased with the overall result and I hope you share my opinion ! if you don't share it, please comment on what could be improved !
Very nice. I like it alot (being a big fan of the Kasrkin myself).
Are the chipped parts of the base's rim intentional? I thought it was just dinged up at first, but upon closer inspection, it looks more like intentional dings. It completes the look of the rest of the mini very well, in any case.
as I mentioned long time ago I really like Your painting style: it's smooth and the most important: natural looking;
the same is in this case but imo You should post closer picture
I really like glowing on the hellgun; could You share the information hou You achieved this? I'd like to try painting sth similiar;
Demi : there are closer pics on CmOn, it's one of the two links under the pic.
The light effect is done with very little paint on the brush. I just wash the parts I want to 'glow' a couple of times, and add a little white to the mix when going closer to the actual light source. As long as the light source itself is the strongest point, and then the glowing gradually fades out.
nice. haha, but your coolminiornot pics are closer but may be lack of left sided light source. The pics you post on the forum here are clearer. About the base, may be if you do it differently will differenciate from the mini. Somehow, now the whole mini, the armour, the clothes and the base are lacking contrast a bit. But surely, having small contrast and beingnature is also a style.
I love the colour scheme you have used for this mini. Technically its very well painted as well. top marks! (you should clean up the side of the base though, give it another layer of paint to cover the stray marks)
