I like this one too! You have chosen very contrasting colors. Smaller parts i.e. red look unfinished, but overall it looks top :)

Contrast is my main problem at the moment.

nice paintjob, but as Maru said - some elements are much better than others.
also, cartoony style combined with sculpt (especially the face) made this mini look like a funny little creature from a kid's story, not like a scary sorcerer and follower of chaos gods.

perhaps I'm blind... where is that freehanded tribal you mentioned?

Yep it is the line.. as i sad, it was just a try. I am painting an Black Orc right now, trying to paint him grungy.^^ Because an orc can not be clean ;)

It seems that i have made many mistakes on the sorcerer. Maybe i have to find an other painting style?

Oooookay, here is the Black Orc Waaghboss, on which i tried to apply a more grungier, dirtier look. Maybe a step into the right direction?

so we got - realy good red nive end vivid ,
good base
good green skin
end your typical stony NMM silver - that dont work

Things to do - lern dow to make good NMM silver - thar is somthing wrong with contrast look at Flameon works he actualy create totaly cartoony effect but it work ens is similar to yours .. but difrence is you look like stone his like silver - contrast is the difrence
