Re: GD Italy
I'd like to split thios discussion into a separate thread "Tools and Art" - but where should it go to guys? Painting? Trashcan?
Re: GD Italy
Please do, Nameless, as I can't do it from this machine.
Several points where I disagree with Kacpero (although he's more competent in this field than I am):
- if galleries determine what is art, what do you tell about folk art? what about primitive art? what about art of deep Amazonian jungles or cold arctic icefields and igloos? no galleries there, no merchants there - but is creative activity of those people not art? maybe not civilized art, maybe not high art, but to me it's still art.
- what about authors who never had any degrees in art, no formal artistic education, were not recognized in their lives, their works were not appreciated but after their deaths they were discovered and remain admired through all these days? did their works become art only after their deaths?
that's why I disagree, but it's probably because we cannot agree on a definition for art. and unless we know what art is - we cannot decide if miniature painting is, can be, or cannot be art.
