realistic snow
All right, my first post. I'm looking for tip: how to make realistic snow on small bases? Any suggestions or link?

RE: realistic snow
use a mix of powder glass + pva glue + a small drop of blue ink + and bicarbonate sodium (in pharmacy)
RE: realistic snow
where do you get powder glass...? and is sodium bicarbonate equal to baking soda...?

Very good question.Trovarion wrote:where do you get powder glass...? and is sodium bicarbonate equal to baking soda...?
RE: Re: RE: realistic snow
I use baking soda mixed with Wikol (or PVA) and maybe a bit of water if the paste is too thick. I add a bit blue paint or ink to kill off the yellowish tint.
Sprinkle a bit baking soda over it to get a "fresh" and dry looking snow.
If you cover it with superglue and sprinkle some "snow" over it you'll get a wet looking, melting snow.
You can also get modeling snow from a (railroad) modeling shop but:
a) it's not always easy to find
b) difference isn't all his big

I tried some baking soda over superglue yesterday and all i got was a 1 molecule thick layer of soda covering the superglue bubble...I must be doing something wrong here...
