Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
I know what is this about, but this is really funny cartoon like bust and I love colorfull comics, so there will be more candy-like points (red scarf, light blue shirt) and I want all that colors pretty saturated and funny. It's the mood I feel from the bust, which is ready hard to explain just on pics.

Sherriff bust was finished a final photo can be found in finished-minis-thread: https://www.chestofcolors.com/forum/view ... 71#p131069
Another project started - Horthak The Black Crow from Andrea. This is my first attempt on his skin - just left side of chest and abs. Everything heavy W.I.P.

I like the tones, but some muscles look strange becouse of huge contrast ans strange shapes.
What colous do you use to paint the skin? And how do you aplay them? The effect is really nice.

The blends seem flawless! The comic style looks good on this one and coupled with some very shiny NMM this can be a very nice refreshing version of this fig. Keep it up I'd say!

Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
Thank you guys, I just started on this mini, it's just first brush strokes, so I will be working on smoother transitions, less contrast and so. This is just after two hours painting, I'll keep in mind your comments. I want to paint him in higher contrast (something like bodybuilders on stage - dark and oily with shiny muscles - it makes them more brutal), but not so comics & cartoon style as Sherrif
Let's see whats next
PRZEMO: I'm using Rackham colours (bought complete colour range), and I'm starting with midtones as basecolour, then apply some dilluted darker colour to define first shades, then add deeper shadows. After that I paint highest lights and then just blending between lights and shadows. Then I start glazing with different tones of reds and browns to get right fleshtone and smoother transitions. Pretty simple I think... I think it's visible on WIP photos of Sherriff.

Looking really good
Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
Small progress on Horthak - painting left side of chest and left (part of) hand, smoothing of skins transitions, changing skin tones a bit... Nothing much

Today's and yesterday's progress on Horthak - skin is almost done, just few touchups (and the second hand of course). Some preparations with black base for metallics. Leather parts and clothing will be the next step I think.
