I liked it, and only didn't buy it as it would go on my stack of awesome mini's I would likely never paint because the sculpt is large and would take too many hours to paint it.

I liek it because of the context of the Kingdom Death setting, which is a hell/demon kind of world. I am very sick of what I would call plain and ordinary demons (wow, that sounded riciculous and nerdy just typing it!) that have a set of stock horns, tail, and some pointy stuff somewhere. I really like the absolutely bizarre aspect of this release as well as their "gorm" (An elephant thingy, with a baby head, and a vagina tooth mouth. Yep, felt nerdier yet writing that).

I like the idea that Poots (the KD dude) is making his demons and monsters unlike other things I have seen from other manufacturers. Hell Dorado has a couple releases in their demon range that I enjoyed also but the idea and execution of these KD monsters I do enjoy. It sells me on the KD setting with it's horror aspect.

Unsettling? Sure, that's kind of why I dig on them. Pornography? I completely disagree as the point of this miniature to me does not seem to be attempting to push any of the pornographic buttons of trying to stimulate any kind of sexual reaction. And if this mini DID do that for anyone.... don't call me, don't write me, and sure as hell don't sit next to me in a bar! Please.

So I am on the side of defending this sculpt. I enjoy the bizare nature of the mini contextually. I like it 1000 times more than say some of the Kabuki stuff with tits hanging out for bizarrre reasons. That chick in the "Aliens" style setting with the machine gun pulling her top off? Not for me. Also the tons of fantasy mini's with chicks tits hanging out, but of course the chainmail bikini bottom (For protection of course!) do not make me even think of reaching for my wallet, or paintbrush.

Good and valid points Scott! It shows again that everyone has a personal taste and that this hobby can go in all different directions, which is a good thing.

btw.... you're such a nerd

Good point.

I kinda liked this one. I also like the concept sketch for the wet nurse thing. Just the final model doesn't quite do it for me. And I am still unsure why.

*several messages deleted. obviously a lot of people felt like writing immediately.* did you get a lot of phone calls too? ;)

Much like what I said - diversity in this hobby is a good thing in my book.

I don’t like new Kingdom Death release.. idea, concept art and miniature are interesting but it’s not kind of thing that I’m searching in miniature world..
Someone said that porn and rape are bad thing and I agree with that but..
..killing is also bad thing, there is lot of bad things in human nature but most of us buy miniatures of killers, mobsters, psychopaths, thieves etc.
Wet nurse play with some clichés, symbols and connotations and for me its not porn.. mini is controversial but it’s not porn itself..
I don’t understand when people said that only art can be wide, open-minded and full of variety and miniature.. why people making craft or f.e. design can’t have such attitude?
I don’t want to say that making miniatures is art, because it’s not (trust me, i have art education ;))
For me it’s all part of big visual culture and I accept this kind of creativity even if its obscene
Sometimes there is no clear borders between art/craft/design/industrial-design etc.
And I don’t like prudery :P

with its wide ranging span im curious what in your education led you to the belief that miniatures cannot be art?

valid point, but let me add, that for me "new and original" does not automatically equal "good". Creativity is always welcome, sure, but not every new thing is a good thing.
As Nav and myself said earlier - leaving the concept/horror/porn issues aside - it's a mix of too many different concepts, over the top sculpt. with all respect for sculpting skills (clearly visible on single elements), the sculptor was not able to transfer the art into 3d piece. especially the dick-head with boob eyes makes this mini plain silly to me.
everything is imo ofcourse.

as for comparison with kabuki model, let me repeat what I've written on wamp.
kabuki chick is playboy. imagined scene from male fantasy. erotic.
wet nurse is bdsm from depth of www. as close to deviant porn as you can get.

naked boobs are wrong, demon tentacles/cable stuck into wombs and breasts of pregnant women are ok?

I'm not prude, I have no problems with minis like kabuki chick or wet nurse. Won't buy any of those (though I do like Kabuki one much better) for myself. Won't think anything bad about people who buy them. They are not for me, but I can accept there is a place for them on the market.
But, we do need to weigh the proportions.

Fair points. Contextually I like the wet nurse as it's bizzare nature fits into the horror realm KD has laid out (which I enjoy). My issue with the boob mini's is just that they make no sense to me contextually. Most of them anyway. This last Kabuki pirate captain is a pretty good example.

'Course everyone has to draw their own lines and limits and like you Nameless I'm not a prude. For me it's just about stuff making sense to me. Oddly, the wet nurse does that for me.

I also can't disagree with many of the points on the actual mini sculpting. Still like it though, and only didn't buy it as I knew it's size would keep me from ever painting it.
