Whitehorn's Dark Mechanicum
Re: Whitehorn's Dark Mechanicum
Some small updates.
Kelbor Hal is built and I've started to get some paint onto him. Just Tin Bits so far, the least photographic paint!

Re: Whitehorn's Dark Mechanicum
one of the most interesting armies I've seen.
paintjobs are not breathtaking (not bad either), but the concept/fluff make up for it.

Re: Whitehorn's Dark Mechanicum
I'm afraid this will not look really good from the distance.
I love the conversion work and overall feel, but paintjob imo just needs a stronger contrast to make it look good on the battlefield.

Re: Whitehorn's Dark Mechanicum
such nice conversion deserves better paintjob, it looks as if you have painted it in time of 15mins

Re: Whitehorn's Dark Mechanicum
I appreciate the paint job needs a lot more work, but could I get some suggestions?
I particularly feel the red is weak and there's an overdose of metal.
Planned improvements:
Highlight the lenses
Redo/clean up the red with more depth.
Further highlight the lava on the base.
Highlight the verdigris
Paint the skulls as bone
I have quite a difficult concept to work to with the colours:
