The elf mage.... his face looks like an ugly elf in his race, may be too focus in learning magic and no time to care about his appearance?

Im impressed with their elves, i think the detail is nice and as others have said they are generally well painted. I like GW's box releases they are usually quite a good deal from a model to money comparison, both in quantity and quality.
