I get the urge to paint now and again, and got logged on to see if the Tale of Gamers forum will be enough to compel me to finish an army. I have an Iron Warriors army posted there right now. I'm mostly a painter these days. Having twins limits the time I have for games, but I want to see if I can finish a large project. I don't paint consistently enough to be very good, so doing a whole army is a means to force myself to put in enough time to get better.
I used to own and operate a site for Warmachine called the Battle College. It was resurrected from Google cache and Wayback Machine after I dropped it for lack of time. Fame of a sort. I've cracked 8.0 twice on CMON, though only one of those models remains at that level. I did it for Iron Painter on Wyrd's website which didn't even get me past the first cut.

This year I'll be at GenCON for the first time in a very long time. I managed it by linking myself to the minis area as a volunteer for most of the con. I'll also be humiliating myself, and ten other painters, as emcee for the Aces of Painting charity event. If you happen to be there you can say hi.

Re: Hi, I'm Glen Murie
Personally I don't pay much attention to the scores on CMON these days. It's best to ask for honest comments on forums with decent level painters like this one.
Welcome.
Welcome.
Re: Hi, I'm Glen Murie
I think your approach is getting more and more popular these days. Now that the choice of manufacturer and model means as much as the quality of your paintjob the CMON scores are no longer a true and accurate representation of anything... And comments at CMON are far from being helpful, as usually they're posted only to praise one's works.

Hey Glen --
I don't think I ever introduced myself to you at GenCon, but I was hanging around the speed paint area quite a bit, and did a bit of heckling during the Aces event. Good to see you over here on CoC.

I was in pretty rough shape by the end of the day on Friday, so if you did introduce yourself I don't remember. Thanks for participating! We ran out of models on Sunday after I left for home, which I understand was a first. It was crazy busy, and I got mice! Did you get mice?pae wrote:Hey Glen --
