Space Marine Color Scheme and Placement

Post by DeadMilkman »

So, as a side project, I'm going to start working on a Space Marine army. I've got things mostly worked out of what to buy, and I've picked up the boxes necessary to make one of the company captains.

The color scheme is quartered black and white (if you've seen Howling Griffons, same pattern, different colors). Simple enough for troopers and Dreadnoughts. But what about vehicles?

The conundrum I'm facing is, do I quarter it looking from the top of the vehicle, or looking from the front of the vehicle? I might just have to buy a couple of bikes to test out both patterns, but I thought I'd get some input here first.

In last UK WD was a Howling griffons army showcase. As to the vehicles He paint them in some good neutral colors and pain a heraldry and army colors on doors and simmilar elements. It looks good

Just divide the Rhino or other tank in four...

So you actually have the time to spare to do an army besides your Tale army... I'm very jealous!

I'm not going to say I have time, but I can't work on the same thing until it is done. I bounce from project to project all the time. I've had this paint scheme in my mind for a while, and now that I'm working for my local game store, I've got the money to start picking up a few peices for this army.

It'll probably take forever, but my projects go like that. I'm working on plenty right now. A Menoth box set for the store (to run demos with), the Ogres, my Khador army, the Mercenary army, the occaisonal work on the IGuard army, and now Space Marines.

At least the captain I started looks cool! I did his construction last night, and it looks pretty spiff. I'll try to get some pics up this weekend.
