A bad night on the town

Post by Mordred »

Yesterday I thought it would be a great idea to go to a party with some good friends of mine ... wrong :)

we were having a good time because it was the first good party after the exams, and everybody had been waiting to do some serious drinking. we are having a great town untill some drunk guys start pushing and roughing on the dancefloor. I ask one of my m8's if anyone knows these guys, and after a negative answer from everyone I decide these guys are just here to pick a fight and we'd better ignore em. right at the point where I thought everything was ok again, a security guy picks up my friend and the other unknown idiot and pushes them towards the exit of the club.
I follow, trying to calm the dude down and talk some sense into him, but he isn't really listening. I take my friend and try to do the same with him, but he's abit drunk and very angry because he gets removed from the party for no reason whatsoever. At that point I notice that the same guys ( 8 or 10 ) are following us down the street. We come across some of our friends who were just on their way to the same party. I tell them what's going on, and everyone tries to calm the other guys down. No use.

At that point someone decides to push my friend down on the ground and they start hitting and kicking him with 4 guys. ( I guess they were retarded football fans or something ) Everyone jumps in to protect him and some of us loose it and start defending him and ourselves. A fight erupts in which some guys deal out punches and receive some, while another one of us calls the cops. IF the other guys see they are outnumbered they stop fighting and go away, to stand near a car with their friends. We write down the license plate and wait for the cops to arrive ...

they arrive at the scene, some guys get busted and taken down to the station, we follow in another car and give our seperate version of the story and identify the guys as the aggressors. All ends well you'd say? No. A very good friend of mine is at the hospital with a serious concussion, a broken nose, and his vacation which was supposed to start today is ruined. All for wanting a fun night out. We didn't pick no fight, we didn't know the guys, and now I am suspicious against all morons who wear baseball caps and look like soccer fans. I don't understand what these guys' major malfunction was, I really don't.
I just hope my friend is allright, I'm gonna visit him at the hospital this afternoon.

sorry for the long story / rant, but this had to get off my liver.

I am sorry for your friend and hope he recovers from his injuries soon. It is a sad fact of life that is becoming all the more too common that this sort of thing happens. It is the very reason that I don't go into town to drink any more there are far to many halfwits that can't hold their ale and are just out for trouble.
The world needs to get a grip of this culture before it gets out of hand (many will say that it is already out of hand).
In this country we now have the longest drinking hours that we've ever had and the police are fighting a losing battle with drunken louts.

As Tim said it's becoming more and more a common situation where you have people going out for causing a disturbacnce instead of having fun in a normal way.

I hope your friend will be allright and I pity the other guys for being such arses!

well alchool is a great way to justify inaptitudes and frustations by trashing, raping and even killing someone. hey i was drunk!
Today if i go for a night drink i have to understand the risks im taking because life is full of stupids and many of them seem to gather at night around beer.

And sorry for my harsh opinion on someting but i simply dont tolerate drunken people. If someone cant controll drink dont drink... someone drunk is someone that simply dont have controll over himself... we are racional human beings and we should controll our bodys and not the way around. Alchool is a relaxing drink that has the potential of bringing the worse in you, so it has to be handled very carefully.

Football fanatics with drinking problems should be silenced and controled... how? never could enter a stadium again in his like or a night club... seems harsh? well i se no other solution because arresting the bastards dont seems to be solving anything in fact they feel proud about it.

sorry about rant.

I agree Navarro, only drink when you can handle it!

Fortunatly for me that when I do get really drunk (which happens seldom) I get all cuddly and affectionate in a good way. ( not as in harrassing someone!)

Hey Mordred!! Your story reminds me of a same kind of trouble that came over a couple of friends and me about 2 years ago. To keep the story short: we were with 6 the others with about 20. The same types you described. When we left (seemed like the most logical thing to do) they followed us outside, dragged two of my friends out of the car, and start beating on them. Others keeping us from opening our doors to help. Security came, the group scattered. We called the cops and ambulance... my two friends ended up in the hospital with multiple bonefractions and bruises. And our car was wrecked. We never heared of the police again, allthough I knew some of the agressors and gave the police their names...

Oh well, my favourite night out is in a nice pub, not too crowded. My friends all can control their drinking as can I (I don't like being drunk at all :) ) and when we see that trouble arrives, we leave. Simple as that.

I hate the people who go out only to cause trouble. Around here it's very common. And I blame it on alcohol and drugs abuse. I can have a perfectly good night out without overdoing it... I just wonder why others can't.

I hope your friend recovers from his injuries soon, and that this type of stuff won't happen to you guys again. It's just a shame that a nice evening gets ruined over nothing.
