Re: Scott Radom's stuff.
great work
which colors did you use for the skulls on his back? doesn't look like you've only used white and gray...

Re: Scott Radom's stuff.
Thanks guys!
Arctica-I think it's just the levels. It's the same paint front and back but it does look a little washed out in the front. If I had to geuss it might be 'cause I use the auto levels in GIMP, and the extra colour on the model in the front did something? The background colour looks a little less vibrant their too. One day I'll get good pics!
Agreed about the extra highlighting. Gotta go further for sure!
As for the line highlighting on the shield, I used some pure elf flesh. Doesn't seem to be enough, so I'll take that a step up later too. Thanks!
The skulls are GW Charadon Granite basecoat then I keep adding P3 Menoth White to layer it up. For the ones on the belt front and back I went up to pure white in places but for the ones nearer the helmet I didn't want them to look as close so I left them at around a little P3 Menoth White Highlight, and only a little of that, so they looked different than the helmet.
Thanks for the comments guys. It felt good working on that mini! Just need to keep going a step or two further. Much appreciated.

Re: Scott Radom's stuff.
That is tiny allright, never thought that!
The metallics are a bit bright but that's okay if he really takes care after his weapon and the bases sand colour looks like it's almost straight from the box. Could be the pics though.
I do really like the colour pallette you've chosen, works very good.

Re: Scott Radom's stuff.
Not only your painting is SO MUCH better than just months ago, but I think that it's also the first painted picture of a Red Box mini I've seen.
Scale comparisons are always appreciated!

Re: Scott Radom's stuff.
Appreciate the comments guys, but I just want to note that it's the dwarfs that are this small, the humans and stuff are much more in keeping with "standard" sized mini's. I love Red Box stuff, and have much more on the go. I'll post a similar scale comparison when I get working on those.
Again, thanks very much for the encouragement and advice!

That dwarf is very well painted.
What type of grass tufts are you using or is this just regular static grass?
