You're right about the bases.

I've started going back after some practice making them. I'll repost those minis now they are based but for now here is my latest.

I'm not sure on bases yet. I'll have a day soon maybe when I can sit and sculpt some rocks or something.
For now, here is my finished Grissel (I tried to do tartan - too hard!).

I can see what you mean. I may revisit it at some point. In the meantime I've been working on a couple more.
Ephrael Stern first, which I'm pretty pleased with (except the undercoat was a bit thick - I did it years ago).
