Re: Serraphim's Seaforge

I have never heard to use purity seal before hairspray. I did a test with salt technique and I worked as expected.

I got the version I used from a bolter and chainsword poster called DV8.

Last night just felt like I couldnt do anything right. The paint was either too thin or too thick. My brush ...

Re: Serraphim's Seaforge

Why the salt technique didn't work?

So I did the basecoat of metal with the Army Painter Platemail Primer. After that was a healthy layer of GW Purity Seal. Then hairspray, then the blue. So when I went to do the chipping it would either take off all the paint down to the bare metal, pull off too ...

Re: Serraphim's Seaforge

So finally got a chance to sit down and start working on these. Originally I was going to use the hairspray weathering technique on these to show some battle damage, but after trying it out on the Avalancher, I did not like the way that it looked. So I've gone back to parade ground ready. I might ...

Re: Serraphim's W.I.P

I am really loving using an airbrush. Started work on eMorg last night. After airbrushing I was working on the gold when I noticed that its looking more bronze than gold. Any suggestions? I'm thinking some glazes of an orange/yellow should help it be more gold.

Re: Serraphim's W.I.P

I guess ignore them is my option. Do you have any tricks for mold lines? I'm thinking of using a black ink while cleaning so that I can see them easier.

sorry, but I can't see any reasonable way... either leave the lines and pretend they are not there, or remove them in a standard way and start from the beginning....
I'll take some more tonight.

Ugh, how did I miss that one?? How would I go about fixing it without it being too obvious that something went wrong? Scrape it off, then put a thicker layer of the surrounding colour on it?

Re: Serraphim's W.I.P

So I got the Skorne models and the airbrush from my friend. After a couple days of playing around with it, testing on various different models to see how it would act, I've started on the Skorne Titan plastic kit from PP.
