Hi all
My name's Steve Buddle and my geekhood has reached such excesses that I run my own minis company, Spyglass Miniatures.
I'm in the depths of Cornwall and see little green people a lot (side effect of a sculpting based career...).

Yeah, I'd kind of got bored with where I was at. I'm happy with the Spyglass back-catalogue but I was getting fed up with constantly sculpting 'fantasy babes'. For a while the industry kind of demanded that to the exclusion of all else. It had got to the point of sell 100 'babes' or sell 5 of anything else. I think there is a turnaround somewhat now though. Female figs still sell of course but there's such a saturation of them that people are more interested in other subjects. Very difficult to get people frothing at the mouth when showing 'yet another babe figure'.
At the moment I'm getting my enthusiasm back sculpting figures for a new range based on my warped vision of the Wizard of Oz (I call it zO).
Trying to figure out which forum I should use for general mini news as it doesn't seem to fit any of the categories in News. They aren't yet new releases, it's not an event, nor a contest or website news. Should there be a general mini news section or am I missing something. Once I've figured that I will show off some of the greens.

I can understand that Steve. Doing the same, even if you like it a lot, will get boring eventually!
I've been following you're 'Zo' project a bit a must say I can't wait what you come up with next. I loved the Scarecrow fig, too bad it sold so fast! (well, bad for me, not for you!

)
My brother says hi! (but I doubt you'd remember him...) His name is Dennis Jonker and he won gold back in 1999 with his Fighta-bomber.
(btw, he also regretted that he made a wrong remark about your entry in 2002, an Ork Wartrack. He said he didn't mean it that way. Weird guy he is!

Whatever he meant is a bit unclear to me as I wasn't there, but I'm sure that if you do remember it you'll understand what I'm saying.)
Tim.

I think the scarecrow proves that other miniatures can sell well, as long as they are original, dynamic and well-sculpt.
