I started painting the new chaos miniatures. For now i am happy with the result. But i need some tips.
I drilled the gun, but should i do a nice blue effect on the plasma pistol?
The sword needs to be better, would a bone color be any good for the bottom half?
The green on the cloak needs highlighting, and 1 eye needs more attention..

Any tips stuuf i am forgetting? Hint for a niv=ce base would be welcome..

Heya,

So far so good: in fact I didn't think I might say I kinda like GW placcy stuff
Thanks for making me change my mind - I guess...

I agree with your points made so far. The cloak looks a little flat but it's quite difficult to tell. I much prefer brighter colours and had you'd thought about differentiating the colour of the armour and sword a bit more? I think if you pushed the contrast of the sword so that the edges are blended to extremes of black and bright colour would give it a much more of an umph. Also a blue-ish glow from the weapon would give it a bit more focus.

As for a base, i guess are you painting this for an army or is it display? a diorama? any particular god the chaos warrior is defined to?
