Help with banners...

Can anyone help me out with advice or direct me to good advice on printing, painting, and mounting banners. I recently started painting miniatures and have searched all over. I have space marines that I bought back in 2005 and never painted. My seargents come with back banner stands and I have no idea where to begin.
