As suggested by Corvus i should really show you guys some of my previous work. Sadly it's as of now only one finished mini and 2 semi finnished ones to show you..
The two semifinnished ones, shelved for now to make time for the model i am working on at the moment:

Your NMM gold looks quite good! Maybe a bit too orange to my taste but the blending is terrific.
I'm not sure which figure is finished, I think the last one?
The mage might benefit from some edge-highlighting on the blue ribbons.
The yellows on the flying elf are quite good! Face lacks contrast, but maybe you are still working on this.
In general I think your bases need some more love. Try to get out of the "painted sand with static grass" style of basing which was taught by GW.

I'm all for elaborate display bases, but "sand&grass" works perfectly fine for gaming minis.

good nmm, decent smoothness. what needs some improvement (badly! - if you want to move up from gaming quality painting) is the faces. you surely read the tutorial from Morsi on our site, didn't you?

Thanks for the c&c!
Yes, the last one is the only one i would consider finished.
These minis were intended to be good looking gaming minis so therefore no elaborate displaybase.
I will really try to go all out on the mini i am working on now that is intended to be of display quality.
The guide is really good. Sadly i read it after i started with these minis. It will surely serve me well in the future though.

For gaming pieces these are more than adequate

Definitely: the bigger contrast on model - the better it looks in the field

As for NMM - no advice from me since I cannot imagine myself painting this technique

Gonna be hard to judge with such a tiny pic

That should do it, had to split the pic to get the correct size.
