Hello,
Having moved and since setting up my new painting area, I've started to get re-acquainted with my brushes!
This thread will serve as my WIP area; please, please, please feel free to give me constructive criticism as I really do wish to improve.
Without further ado, here is my latest piece. It's an Eldar Autarch that is actually a commission piece. The model was sent to me primed and built, unfortunately the primer did not want to come off when I tried to strip it, so I've had a hard time trying to get smooth blends, as it was primed with flash, mold lines and the primer used went on very thick.
Colors used are at clients request so that the models match his current ones.
I have a few more items to paint after this one for the client, but those pieces have been supplied un built and un primed which means I can give them a good clean before painting!
Here's the Autarch so far...

Few more colors blocked in and the cloak's vibrancy brought up a little.

Not the kind of commission piece I'd accept, but you seem to cope well with it. What did you use to strip the paint?
What happened to the mini's feet?

Re: Skraaal's Work In Progress Thread
Heya,
I tried stuff like Mr.Muscle to strip it as I didn't want to use anything stronger because of the nature of Finecast...I was scared it might dissolve it O_o
In the end I just decided to paint it as is, and see how smooth I could get things even with the model being so rough.
As for his feet, well, they went for a walk...I'll be sculpting new ones for him on his base!

Use beastman's feet - the client will be happy ^^
Really like strong red color you got but really don't like white - looks like it needs some more smoothing

red is great, it would be nice to see such contrast on other parts

Ok, so whilst having some spare time I thought I would tinker with some colour theory, what better way to do it than with another quick Nurgle Marine. So here he is so far, Mr. Nurgle Marine v2 aka colour man.

A bit low on contrast but I like the general look!
