Inquizarus paint-slap corner

Hi there!

As i said that i would in the introduction thread i'm now creating a thread dedicated to my miniature painting and path to improvement.

Lets start with an nearly done manhunter for my khador army.

Aiyana has gone totaly bonkers.. thinking of stripping the paint of her to restart, holt i'm really happy with!

I like the guy with the purple on the hat, verry popping without being too flashy :)

Thank you, my mercenaries in Warmachine all have an element of purple and turquoise. Both are colors i like but have stayed away from becouse of thoughts like "No.. i cant pull them off, I'l just stick to old brown, green and grey tones..".

The colors have been very rewarding but also require me to really think about the composition to not overdo it. And thats where i think aiyana is "bad" in my eyes, to many different colors popping colors instead of just purple and turquoise and then going with more earthy tones in the details.

I think now you should add more contrast to the reds, now it looks way too flat and like a red ball. Add more or deeper shadows :) I know it is a wip :)

I don't think these reds are too flat. I only think they need some more definition by emphasizing their edges a bit. highlights of the edges plus some darklining should do the trick

I will be watching the progress here:
I am also stuck at painting reds - evil sun banner, it's pretty hard and tricky to make red look interesting, especially on flat surface :?
