Another basing matter

So I am preparing another display base - this time for Valhallans squad: ~10 minis + Chimera APC.
There will be sockets for all bases but I am wondering about placing Chimera.
I don't want just stand it between advancing models so I am thinking about making "gutters" for the tracks.
Has anyone tried such thing?
I think I can simply gut gutters in styrofoam base or press tracks in greenstuff so it (hopefully) fits better...

Any ideas or suggestions?

Why not have the APC climbing/destroying a wall or other obstruction?

I was planning adding some ruins on the base but it should not be a problem to arrange rubble so it fits tracks...

my suggestion would be to sink is slightly in mud or sand, but I think I like Barton's idea better!

Sounds good, maybe make two ruined walls with a gap in the middle the Chimera is advancing out of? As is he's hiding in/or riding out of a ruined building.
