Wierd and nasty/Thrullg

I started to paint this Thrullg from Hordes from -PP --to look like a Spawn. Torso is mostly done,: base coat, wash and highlits. I will do more highlighting and washing-glazing.

As you can see I got inspired by Rackham style of painting and I love it.

As for the miniature I like it! So many colors, nice variation :)
But the base... hmmm... actually I don't like it. I don't undestand what is going there. White is it marble? Why is it on the water, and why on the water is grass?
So for me a big difference between the miniature and the base (well the idea of it).
Also the base colour selection doesn't match the mini one.

Hi, after a long time.....
Thanx for the comments, about the base: it's in separatable two parts, first base is for the Hordes system, and the second for the Warhammer FB. all together it is supposed to be a ruin in the middle of the marshes, on which the monster has climbed to from the water.

Thanx, yes Tigers of Dirz indeed was th inspiration for this fig, and personally I really like that style. I could paint mutants to the rest of my life.

I'll move this pic to the showcase now, won't work on it any more.

Thanx. :)
I use GW paints from all ranges and hobby acryl paint from the Muller hobby department. They are quite good and come in big pots and they have very iamginative names like '' capuccino white'', which I've just bought today.
Cheers.
