Of course the shells are to be painted fresh metal as if just fired and some final touches will be done (I also consider some water effect to pretend rain), but I feel there's something missing here that I just can't pinpoint. My wife suggests some bright accent as a contrast (some kind of trash/soda can/whatever in bright colour), but I'm rather not convinced. Some advice anyone? Oh, and it's a small 30mm base to make it clear so nothing large will fit.
