Malleus: Intro & Showcase

Well, let me start by saying that I've drawn a large amount of inspiration from painters on this forum, and wow, you guys have made some amazing works of art.

So, I played Warhammer 40k when I was younger, but I ended up stashing all my stuff away as I finished High School. As fun as the game was, it was the painting and creating I always enjoyed the most!
January 2010 I dug out the remnants of my Tau army and some odd models and bits I had, to finally dive back into a loved hobby. I could also actually afford the hobby now that I didn't just have a teenager's allowance to draw from, hahaha.

After arming myself with a 'chest of colors', tools, brushes, etc, I got to work!
Thus bringing me to this community of painters and creators alike.
Without much ado, lets get the pictures rolling.

Before I showcase my recent works, I'd like to start with a shot of my old Tau before I busted them up and had my way with their parts hahaha. Please forgive me for the picture quality. :(

Please give me all the C&C you can muster, it's more than welcome and greatly appreciated. :D
Warning, it's going to get pic heavy from here on out.

At this point I poured myself into (for me) a much larger project. As well this is the first time I tried out sculpting and was the beginning of my relationship with the useful but sometimes annoying Greenstuff, hahahha. I started in June, but only recently finished this guy in Jan 2011. Honestly, being the first large project I had done, I had no idea what I was getting into. There is definitely a list
of things I would have done differently from the very beginning after experiencing the overall process. But hey, that's how we learn!

Here are a couple of unfinished models that I thought would be fun to show.

Alrighty, that is all I have as of now. Currently I am working on an out of suit Commander O'Shovah, which I will post as soon as I am finished.
I hope you all find my work enjoyable, as well as something to make it more enjoyable!

first of all - welcome!

as arctica said - you've shown some good quality paintjobs here. but, to be honest, I'm not able to give much detailed comments, as pics are too small :) also, try to crop images, we don't need to see that much of a background :)

In reply to your comments:

- not yet, I've simply been comfortable with their medium of figures. I'm sure I'll poke around in the future though. :)

Nameless wrote: to be honest, I'm not able to give much detailed comments, as pics are too small also, try to crop images, we don't need to see that much of a background
- I through all this together late last night, and didn't even think to crop them! Thank you for the reminder haha. Future pics will definitely be cropped. I will work on the pic size aswell.

- You know what's funny, I was gung-ho to make this guy, but almost near finish, I lost interest due to the dis-proportions of the mash up of parts. The Space marine chest looks too short in my opinion. I got a lil' frustrated with it and put it aside to be finished at an undisclosed time. hehehe
Thank you for loving it though!

Thanks guys!

Malleus, welcome to the forums. The works definitely look decent but there's much room for improvement. Now tell us if you want the gentle version or the harsh one. It's better to have a choice

Regarding Maru - English is not his first language and dyslexia makes his spelling even worse. If you have enough patience to try to understand his posts - you can benefit from them a lot. If you don't have enough of it - that's fine, no problem. But you'll be missing a lot of valuable comments :(
