some of my mini's

Hi I've just started painting again after having a 10 year gap. Below are some of the minitures I've painted. The eldar gardian is quite basic as I'm using him for gaming. My eldar army is based on scorpions aswell as the colour scheme. Calgar was took me a good few hours to paint, I wouldnt mind going back over him with some freehand stuff on his cloak. hope you enjoy them and I should have more stuff up soon.

welcome!
eldar actually looks better. painting is clean, details crisp. or is it the pic? ;)
anyway, sometimes simple is better than complicated.

I think it's the sculpt which is to blame... Marneus has so many details that on these blurry photos it makes me dizzy...
But it's easy to see that the face may look better (we don't know for sure because of the photos) and the way highlights are placed on the armor is pretty interesting.

The eldar is more "correct" as a paintjob. It's neater. Simpler but neater. A little darklining and highlighting along the edges would make it a nice miniature. Now it's a bit flat, and lacks definition of details, but is much clearer and more "legible" than Calgar.

heya,

what made you drop the hobby for such a long time :)

I dropped it as my other hobby was DJing and I ended up getting really good and decided to go professional so I had no time to paint. Then along came my !st son and he took up all my time. Just recently I had a series of bad events happening in my life one after the other and due to this I had to go see someone about it and they told me to get a hobby to take my mind off things, so here I am and its helping a lot hopefully soon I'l be back to the same standard I was 10 years ago.

thanks, I should have some eldar stuff up at the beginning of next week as im half way through doing a viper and a unit of striking scorpions. They are going to be not to the highest standard as they are gaming models but I do have some models that are non gaming and i'll prob post them up at the end of the week.

Alim192, now tell us honestly:

Can you tell anything about mini depicted on this photos? Anything more than what colors were used...
