Looking to learn!

Hello,
Thought I'd sign up and say hello. I enjoy painting all sorts of minis and am trying to improve with each one. I've seen some of the work that comes off this place and I'm impressed, so I figured it would be a great place to get some critique. Some of you may know me already from around the way but most of you probably don't.
Here's the last mini I completed:

Hey Pete, nice to see you on here. I would say first of all i prefer darker shadows, especially around his trousers. I think it would stand out more if darker shading was used. Nice and neat and the skin tones are nice and i rather like the shirt too but some areas could be a little tidier there like the back shot, his elbow and shoulder where the light is being picked up doesn't look very smooth, perhaps a couple of glazes to smooth out the rough edges. Still nice work and good to see you around on here too.

hi and welcome
I don't know if you want some suggestions here or you're going to open a thread in a different section (wip/painting/showcase). this is a good paintjob which could be easily improved. Arctica said the most of it, but I think some things could be added

Thanks for the welcome folks.
The mini was sort of a fun/experimental piece for a buddy. I mixed in metallic medium to get a silky shimmer to it. Enjoyed painting it.
@nameless: if there is beer in that fridge, I may actually be in there.

I don't drink much beer recently, but I think there's one hidden somewhere just in case... shall I warn my family to stay away from the fridge?
neatpete - post your own thread in the showcase section, that's the best place around to get some comments
