I want to do the pieces hanging down under his feet red and gold, but what about the cloak? I don't want too much red, but am uncertain what would be good for a dwarf king.

So far, the king has red hair and the bear will probably be a rich dark brown. I tried black for the bear (they have black bears where I grew up ), but it really didn't work well. So...

I'll try to get a couple WIP pics tonight to post, too.

Blue is a good colour for the cloak. I find greens and blues are nice dwarvey colours, plus it'll go well with the gold armour on the bear.

In warhammer, deep green + silver can be found on the dwarf king's war banner.
Another idea is to paint the cloak in a lion/tiger pattern style, which can then be extended on the very fur on his back and collar..
