Instructions for sculpting in fimo
Posted: 3 Mar 2010, o 00:50
I`m preparing for some sculpting and I wanted to try something new for me - the fimo. I bought few packs of white FIMO Soft (I`m not sure if that will be good enough).
I have seen some great minis made of fimo but because this sculpey is hardening in high temperature, I would be happy to hear some instructions how start with it. The first questions I bear in mind are:
1. Whats the best way to hardner the fimo during sculpting proces? Bake in oven/boil in pot/use hairdryer? How long it takes?
2. How smooth the fimo and tools? Use water or some kind of oil (for ex. vaseline)?
3. Should I start sculpting on specific kind of armature?
4. How fimo works with other sculpeys?
5. Does fimo change its shape during the hardening process?
6. What are main advantages/disadvantages of fimo?
I will be happy to hear some tips.
