Paint a Grot Kompetition

Post by kacpero »

rules:
So with that being said, here are the rules for Da Paint a Grot competition.
Your model may be converted, but must be a grot. It can be a current model, or an older model. It does not matter, as long as it's a grot. It can be from either the fantasy or 40k ranges.
Bases may be done to taste. No restrictions on bases.
Since this is the seventh anniversary of the WAAAGH's founding, the model must include some form of copper color painted on it. If the model does not include this color, then it will be disqualified.
Models that have been entered in earlier competitions are not eligible for this one.

Submission of models:
The deadline for the contest is the end of March 31st by midnight Eastern Standard Time. All submissions must be in at this time.
Send 1 pic of your unpainted entry, and no more than three pics of your painted entries to grot_messenga@the-waaagh.com. Be sure to include "Paint a Grot Kompetition Entry" in the subject line. Also include your forum name in the body of the email so that we know who you are if you win. The three pics you will need to submit must include a front shot and a side shot. The third will be the submitter's choice (no collages, please) It is also important that you hold off on posting pics of your entries on the site (or anywhere else) - we want to keep all the entries anonymous!
We will send out confirmation emails saying we received your submission. If you do not receive a confirmation email within three days of submission, then please send an email to mekboyz@hotmail.com and let us know.

Voting:

Pictures of submitted models will be posted anonymously on the forum and voting will be done by the members. The model with the highest vote count wins.
Members found soliciting votes for their models here or on other sites will be disqualified and will have their title changed to 'weedy cheatin' git'!
prizes:
Now for the part that everyone wants to know about. What do I win? The person with the highest vote will win a box set of the new Killa Kanz purchased from the generous donations we've received for the site. In addition they will get a plaque. And, of course, bragging rights!

I've also painted a grot - the fifth place.
Not really happy with the results  It was a painting competition and looks like something other than painting was judged. I'd put those minis in completely different order. But maybe I'm wrong :?: Winners were chosen by voting on the website, maybe it's why the results are so strange.

Just look at other nice (IMO) minis which were really low rated:
