Re: pae's junk
very smooth indeed. metal parts could perhaps shine a bit more, but it's still a great piece It's great to see how you increase quality with every piece.

Re: pae's junk
flawless
my only critique is that you painted some scratches on the side of the anvil, but the top looks undamaged, I'd expect more weathering there.

Great piece. What I like about it the most, is the smoothness and the rich colours!

I admire the uniformity and smoothness of the colors. Great job on that.

Re: pae's junk
nice work !!
just missing more contrast on the face to point it out from the rest (do something with the nose brighter color, pink violet, or crimson alizarin)
the color value for the armour and the skin are the same, and it flood the mini sight
work on dark liniing to separate well the different parts (armour/runes)

So smooth on that dwarf! Beauty stuff!
Re: pae's junk
It's been a while since I actually completed something. I have quite a few now that are in the partially completed, mostly abandoned phase. But this one I just finished for a ladder challenge over on the Wamp forums against Scott R. I've always liked painting the Rackham dwarves, as you guys may have noticed, so here's yet another one.

This was done after taking 8 classes at GenCon, and watching about half of Natalya's DVD. On this one I was concentrating quite a bit on getting smoother blends. Now I think I need to work on more contrast in my colour choices, since it seems like quite a bit of this is too similar in value.

Re: pae's junk
nice one again Pae
I'm not an NMM expert by any means, but your gold nmm doesn't look as shiny as it IMO should. Silver looks much better in that respect, it shines as metal.
I miss some stronger highlights on edges - horn "plates", gems, armour.
also, highlights on the blue cloth (bottom right pic) seem to be placed incorrectly. I don't know, it might be just the pic issue and everything's perfect in 3D.
now, just out of curiosity, I'd love to see the same mini painted in gritty, realistic, true metallics style. Don't know why, just got this "comparison" idea immediately after seeing your paintjob.
