I'm thinking about sculpting my own figure for a D&D campaign. Any recommendations on a great tutorial? thanks

hi uglijimus
wouldn't it be easier to check Reaper and Dark Sword ranges?

you're not providing too much info...
how much do you know already, what experience do you have, what do you need to learn?

I've already checked Reaper and Dark Sword and couldn't find any that suite my character.

As far as my experience goes, none. I do know that an armature is needed (usually wire of about .25 mm I think) and there are various types of clay to work with. Also
I heard sketching is pivotal for creating a successful miniature. I guess I am looking for the ultimate guide/tutorial for the layman such as myself.

I don't think there's an ultimate guide of sculpting, just as there is no such guide for painting. The subject is too wide.
I still believe it would be a better idea to find the existing mini and possibly convert it a bit to match your character.

Attend a large US convention either GENCON or ORIGINS, they both have many classes on sculpting and basing and painting. I go to both and it is GREAT training by talented people.
