In the USA we have a spice company called McCormick and they make a prepackaged mix for beef stew for crock pots.

Makes it simple. Easy even a caveman guy could do it. :banghead:

1.5lb beef (say .75 kilo) cut in chunks (beef stew meat comes in USA pre-cut) can be low quality meat cut
2-3lb red potato (say 1.5kg) wash outside with nylon brush NOT a paint brush you caveman :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: cut in to bite sized chunks
1 white potato or one standard #10 can drained (say .25kg) white potato (cut in small bite sized chunks)
stalks of celery washed, cut into bite sized chunks, about 0.5lb or .25kg
carrots, washed, peeled, cut into bite sized chunks, about 2lb or 1 kg
mushrooms-cut; 8oz can (.25kg) drained or mushrooms, washed cut into small bite sized chunks

Add all but he spice packet into a 6-7 quart crock pot. Put the spices in a small bowl with hot water (1.33 cup about .5 liter) and stir well.
Pour spice-water mix into crock pot. Cover, turn crock pot on high for 4 hours.
Very yummy on cold winter days. Feed 2 hungry adult humans or 4 people with some side dish(es). Also freezes well and can be reheated in microwave oven.

Not that I know of, but I bet you add more potatoes and it would be very filling. If you add other vegetables and it would be good, I guess. If you wanted you can buy other McCormick spice packets, they make one for crock pot vegetable soup and other dishes.
