Below every thread you can find a "quick reply" button which allows to post quick answers without opening another page in your browser.

2. Unread posts

Between "View unanswered posts" and "View new posts" on top of the forum's main page you can see "View unread posts" button.

3. Thanks

When reading a thread you will notice a "thumb up" icon which allows you to thank somebody for a valuable or helpful post. Let's use it to encourage people to post interesting things to the forum instead of just saying "I like it" or "I don't like it".
Thanks can be removed by clicking "thumb down" icon.

4. Mark forums/topics read

On forum's main page in top right corner you have "Mark forums read" button to mark all topics in all forums read.
On when browsing a section of the forum the button becomes "Mark topics read" instead and only marks all topics in this section read.

2. nothing I needed badly, but it will make life little bit easier.
3. can we 'thumb down' to show we don't like a post?

no, there's no way to thumb down a post. moderators can give warnings to users though

as for checking thanks - not all users can do it. generally members of special 'groups' like moderators, Chest of Colors, Box of Brushes, etc. can check that. it's possible from each user's profile and from the menu on top-right side of the forum page.

Nice new features thanks Mahon for the good work, and even if the forum is a temporary version it has grown on me, i like it alot.

no worries - only the layout is temporary. the engine will not change. so when I manage to take enough days off to change the layout it will be brought in line with the website.

Ah, this explains why the forum was unaccesable for me last night!
