I have store owner that wants me to do him a favor and I can't seem to pick out what to do. Was hopeing I could get some fed back here. The store owner is starting to take some of the more trusted painters in the store and is either highering them out for comissions or has a case for consighment projects. He asked me to be the first one to get a project done for him. The deal is it will be a consighment project but hes not going to take a cut out as I will be the first one doing it.
Here is the issue I want to make some thing that will not sit in the case forever to get this going in a posative way for him. I was thinking space marines (Blood angels, Black Templars and Space wolfs are suppose to get some thing soon.) I could do orks as I find most players like the idea of mixing clans in to there wauughs. Or I can do some thing huge like a eldar void dragon. Its esentialy any thing I want.
I've never done anything for sale before though and would like some ideas.
(ps) sorry for the length

If it wasn't for the gutter my mind would be homeless.

I think that going for Space Marines is the best and safest option. Perhaps a Captain, Chaplain or other HQ option would be best as people would have a good eyecatcher for their army.

RE: Project for local shop
when it comes to earning money on minis space marines are always good choice
RE: Project for local shop
oh yes, go for a big, decorated space marine character. preferably from one of 'named' chapters

Yea. I would second (or third or forth or whatever) that. Paint a space marine character. 50% of 40K players probably plays SM and a good commader is always a very nice centerpiece. If your wondering what character to paint ask the store owner who sells best or look at some 40K army lists. Should be more then plenty around...
Good luck

De[ends on the client base. If GW is strong at the store, HQ or special characters are good, but if not so strong, go for your own strengths...what do you LIKE to paint technique=wise? Head in that direction and find out what the strongest sellers at the store are.

I would suggest a command squad of space marines defending one of those newer terrains that came with Planetstrikes. Some of these bastions are pretty good as is but could be made even more interesting with minimal conversion/bashing. You know, some very dark rusted through bastion defended by some very bright space marines for a good contrast.
