hi,
you embed a pic by using the IMG tags like this:
Code: Select all

I like the paintjob, but would love to see some highlights from zenithal lighting on the armor. It would make the model look much better than just one more trooper (although a well painted one).

hi mahon, thanks for the image tip

and also the advice.. im affraid im a bit of an old skool painter.. and have been out of the game for some time now.. when i was learning to paint the main dish of the day was to keep it neat and well highlighted.. im not up to date with these new fangled techniques such a light source and color effecting sources such as fire etc.. i will however endevour to improve my work .. i was wondering if you had an example of zenith lighting that you liked on a figure so i could see for myself.. even better if you have one of an eldar figure.. of course i know what zenith lighting is.. but the only examples i can find are ACTUAL pictures of people rather than models..
tnx again for taking time to comment.. i really appreciate it
take care..

oldschool painter or not - you should add sth on the base

I like the effect you achieved - smooth and eyecatching, well done!

Its a really neatly painted and smooth paintjob i like it, the addition of more highlights and shades would really help bring out the model more. Still great comeback mini and always lots to learn and this is a good place to do it

Have a look on CMON for anything by Jeremie Bonamant, he's got the technique down solid
Welcome in by the way

I like your clean lines but agree with Demi about the base, mine lack that vital bit as well

thanks guys.. i really appreciate your feedback.. i checked out ur man.. and found this..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP56VgJY ... re=related.. its EXACTLY what you were talking about.. a video by him explaining his method of zenith lighting

and pre shading.
not sure im setup for optimal zenith lighting.. as i base in black and the miniatures it works more effective on more fantasy style where more skin is visible.. of course im sure it works well with all sorts if your good enough.. ill keep practicing though..
thanks again..

This is a great place to learn. Welcome to the board! Oh, and a nice mini as well. A better picture might do it more justice, but other then that I leave the commenting to those better then me.

You can always give you opinion

its what this site is about.
On topic, i've always had trouble with zenithal highlighting, it always seemed a bit strange to me but it does come with patience and practice
