Guests

Something doesn't work right? You have ideas for possible improvements?

Should unregistered persons (Guests) be allowed to post on the forums?

Poll ended at 22 Jul 2005, o 10:01

Yeah, we want everybody - even the unregistered ones - to join the diuscussions!

No way, this only makes a mess in the forums because we sometimes forget to log in and post as Guests :(

Shouldn't you restrict guest posting on the forum? It happens so often, that people forget to log in and realize only after posting something.

If you do want guests allow to post, maybe dedicate a forum for them, like a guestbook or similar.

Ok, let's run a poll about it....

I thought that it would be cool to allow even non registered people to post - if somebody doesn't feel like registering and has something to add...

But maybe it really makes a mess in the forum? :(

The poll will run for 10 days and then we will see

I really don't have a problem with guests posting, but it seems that our guests are always (or almost always) users thet aren't logged in ;)

That's why I've voted on the second option.

Yes, what ToMaZ says is exactly why I thought it doesn't make much sense...

It has two sides: You could miss out on some great advice from people who don't wanna register but I agree with Endrem, it's a bit messy and also sometimes you want to ask some more but you won't be able to because they are not there anymore! (for example Josch, who posted in the GD Germany topic...)

I've voted on the second option.

On the other hand, it provides a backdoor for evil-doers (Thanks goes to Mr Bush for the expression ;)), someone can just write anything anywhere, flooding and stuff. Luckily we haven't had that yet, but my experience shows that the time will come...

I voted "no" because I accidentally wrote some posts when I firgot to log-in... :? It's the main reason, but imo it's worth to protect this cute virtual comminity from mean posts of any sort - everything can happen after all...

i voted yes because the guest posting can be a good way to "evaluate" this forum before joining.
and to me it's not so messy to have some "Guest" signed posts

Sorry to sound pessimistic, but its part of my job to think this way... IMHO guests should have to register to post in the normal forum areas if for no other reason than it cuts down on the potential for spammers to hit the boards at will.
