Why, hello...
Evening folks. I've been browsing the site the past couple of weeks, so I figured I would stop by and introduce myself.
I've recently began modeling again after a long hiatus and I just wanted to say your site is wonderful. The miniatures you guys produce are very inspiring and the resources are extremely helpful. Overall I think those two factors (inspriation and knowledge) are very important when it comes to being successful.
As for myself, I began working with plastic WW2 models as a kid and was converted over to the Warhammer universe by a friend around the age of seven or eight (the name 'Little Dave' was actually given to me since I was one of the youngest kids at the local hobby shop). I continued painting throughout my teenage years and stopped shortly after highschool, so I have most likely lost any painting prowess I once had.
Currently I have began re-building my collection and I spend most of my free time painting. I do have a couple works in progress currently, although I'm no professional painter by any means. Perhaps I'll get some pictures up once I get a little more comfortable and figure out how to properly work a camera.
Anyway, thanks again for providing thet great community you have here. In case you're curious, I'm actually an eBay employee and found the site while browsing other Warhammer auctions. If you ever need any help with anything, I'm your man.

I don't really do any WW2 modeling these days, although it is what got me into the hobby. I have an abundance of figures to ranging from old Rogue Trader era and early second edition to some recently released Sisters of Battle, so I'll probably be mixing it up a bit.
Currently I'm working on a five man Legion of the Damned squad and I have an old 1988(?) assassin I really want to paint up on once my technique improves. I also want to try my hand at a non-NMM metallic grey knight.
My main problem right now is figuring out realistic lighting. I've read a bunch of tutorials, but it's still very difficult for me. I guess the best I can hope for is to practice and the rest will come in due time.
Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome. I'll definitely post some pictures when I can as I'm sure any feedback would be beneficial.

You have come to the right place. Here are a great bunch of mini painters willing to share and provide advice as well as a great mix of beginners, intermediate and expert painters. All in a freindly almost good family like atmosphere.
Enjoy your stay, show us your mini's and do not hesitate to ask a question, no matter how simnple it may seem to you. Also check the search function to see previous entries, answers, and even some tutorials among the threads.

Hey there, don't be put off by any of the criical remarks people here make, it's a great way to improve.
A 1988 Assasin, I'd like to see that one even if it's un-painted

Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

Just posting a quick response for CP. This isn't my personal figure, but the miniature I'm referring to can be seen in this listing: Imperial Assassin (eBay)
I had one as a youngster and it was always one of my favories, so there's a bit of nostalgia there. Who doesn't like ninjas, especially futuristic looking ninjas with swords and guns?
I've been pretty busy at work, but I have a battle sister I've been working on. I would like to get some pictures posted tomorrow, so look forward to that, as mediocre as it may be.
