Space marines aren't my bag but I like this piece, remove his backpack and you've almost got a mediaeval knight  I like the base as well (Correct me if I'm wrong but is that Macaroni sticking out of the ground on the base?) but have to say my only real criticism is the lighting in your pictures, I think a pair of side lamps would improve your shadows showing off more of your shading and weathering.

But don't listen to me I'm still a relative newbie on here ;)
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

First of all:

Hi Crackajam and welcome to Chest of Colors! :) Now with that out of the way we can move on to the mini. :P

The pics are a bit on the small side, the bigger the pic, the easier for us to comment.
I like the color composition. I get a bit of Celtic/Irish feel for some reason :) You do need more highlights and shading though. A zenithal effect usually looks very good on space marines.

Also the dirt part of the base could use more colors. It looks a bit plain. Some black/dark brown/green should work fine. paint the tubing, add rust to it and maybe add some ripples to the water.

Keep up the good work and you'll have a fine champion!

As the guys already said, WELCOME!

I think the miniature looks NEAT, which is the most important thing to learn. If the pics were larger I would be able to offer more feedback than just saying something about the colors, because to judge the technique and skill we need to see the miniature better and all we can see are pictures.

And these are pretty small...

Show us bigger pics and prepare for more criticism

nice marine - at least from this distance
as it was said bigger pictures would be surely helpful to judge model properly but at this stage - model is just neat! :)

Looking good.

I like the soft blue shadows on his white cloth. As for the TMM, try to go for more contrast and even with TMM do some edge highlights. The violet sword isn't really my cup of tea but the NMM aspect looks good but also here, and especially when painting NMM, go for more contrast. :)

It looks very nice, contrast is good, colors well chosen, base is also nice - good job one this one :)

What could be improved:
- base could be more interesting then a pillar and a bit of grass
- metallic could be given few washes to make them look more interesting
miniatures painted:
2011 - 83, 2012 - 38, 2013 - 45, 2014 - 56, 2015 - 95, 2016 - 106, 2017 - 22
