Super Sculpey and Green Stuff woes...

How to convert or sculpt a miniature? How to make a decent base or even a full diorama?!

Super Sculpey and Green Stuff woes...

Post by Gunzhard »

Hey guys,

Using the Decorative Armour tutorial, on the Scibor web site, as inspiration I've begun attempting to make custom molds and sculpts. I am however having some major difficulties.

Scibor tutorial link:

I am obviously a complete newbie but I've made some really nice looking molds so far...

My problem is with the green stuff phase. The green stuff won't come off the mold. If I try to remove the green stuff while it's pliable the sculpt is badly compromised; if I wait until the green stuff is hard than it is even more difficult to remove and requires being cut off which compromises the sculpt and the mold.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for keeping the green stuff from sticking to my mold?

Thanks!

You can spit on the mold before putting gs there - makes modelling mass comes off easier

Yeah moisture seems to be the key - thanks!

My next problem - air bubbles!! ...anyone have any tricks for this? A few of my sculpts came out almost perfect but for an air-pocket in key spots.

Almost there... :)

Thanks,
Vincent
