I think it was more a lucky guess.

I remember a smattering of greetings from a variety of languages, but don't always remember which greeting goes with which language. . . .

People here may feel confused by reading things they can't understand.

If you couldn't find a place to say "hi" in Polish, still it's better to use a wrong section of the Polish forum than the English one.
