Finally the first book of it's kind to be released after over two years in the making. All of our efforts have come to fruition in this stunningly detailed Alternate Events World War II miniature wargame.

AE-WWII is a skirmish-based miniatures game set in the retro sci-fi setting of an alternate World War II. The game is intended for use with the Darkson Designs line of AE-WWII "true" 28mm miniatures.

AE-WWII combines wargaming and historical fiction into a game that has much to offer fans of both. With a flexible, points-free detachment design system players can create purely historical forces or units comprised entirely of the terrifying new wonder weapons available to each side of the conflict. In AE-WWII it's up to the players to decide how historical or how fictional the game will be.

Inside you will find:

Amazingly detailed alternative timeline
A dynamic points-free force organization system
Full vehicle rules
Comprehensive section on scenarios and campaigns
Complete faction lists: American Sci-Tech, German Geneticists, and Russian PSI factions,
AE-WWII is available for preorder and will be shipping Mid-December.

FREE SPECIAL EDITION MINIATURE with your PRE-ORDER PURCHASE.

Choose from: American Buffalo Pilot, German Lab Rat or the Russian Special Edition.

@Nameless Thanks for the hopes. I think once a few people get the book we will get more fans. The style is unlike anything out their right now. The History section will blow you away with hoe much effort has gone into the time line. We took the approach of rooting our fluff in history as some very strang things went on durning this time period. Try looking up "The Battle for LA". History is full of crazy stuff.

I'm just curious if AE-WWII will get fans outside the US. Weird War subject is not as popular on the other side of the pond as in your country.
Can you tell us bit more about mechanics? How the ruleset work? Is it fast? How many models on average per side? How long are games? Kill'em all or scenarios?

Yes, I am also curious. I myself am fond of the Weird War genre, but I agree with Nameless - it's not a popular thing here.

I think that's due to no examples of this subject in polular culture here - not many books, movies, and the weird war comics never made it to Poland (can't tell about Europe as I don't know...) while they were quite popular in the US.

It seems to be very popular on your side of the pond. It is just now starting to pick up over here.

Little about the game.

You play with a force between 8 and 20 miniatures depending on what style force you would like to play. We have a no points system (No, not a pointless system  ) First you decide what type of Detachment you want to play ( Command, Experimental, Infantry etc) in that Detachment description you fine out what your allowed to run in each training level. Example 2 Green, 3 Regular, 1 Veteran, 1 Elite. Than you check out your Faction list and see what your choices are for each training level. Bam you are done picking your Force. No trying to mash points.

For game play it a you go I go system. So the first player activates one of their units. Than the second player gets to activate one of his own units now.

Games are scenario driven. You have your Primary objective that you both know about and try to get, yet you both have a second objective that is hidden from the other player. You get your second objective by drawing a card from your sides second objective cards ( part of a free download that will be on the site at the release of the book, as well as in the back of the core rule book)

So you play with both players trying to get one or both objectives till one person routs/ gains the objectives/ of is killed off.

A game plays in 30-45 min. The rules are fast to pick up and have enough in them for people to have some serious tactics.

You can get a game in with Morph as he has played a few games with my crew at Gen Con Indy this year and is still playing. :D

I hope this answers your questions.

Cheers,
Robert
