I once saw minis made from wire by some crazy guy from Russia, but I'm not sure if I have pics somewhere on my comp.

Oh sh!t... Never thought that is possible! But except elf (?) those minis (?) are rather 2-dimensional ? I mean thay have statue-looking pose

Those wire guys are also funny
I was amazed of the paper figures because when I first saw them, I had no idea how to make them.
If you browse a bit on his site, you'll see how he is planning them first on paper by drawing.
