I was looking into the Alpha Legion Chaos Army, and was wondering what would be a good mini to base Chaos Cultists off of? (I can't seem to find a decent one) Weapon-wise all they carry are laspistols or autopistol and a ccw... any ideas to base the conversions on?

Necromunda gangers, or if you want to be less tech-advanced - mordheim guys.
Or if your cultists are already mutated - skaven

some time ago I was also wondering about cultists: chaotic, necromundian or any others so I could collect my rpg dead-desperados team... ; I've found that many old warzone minis fits well (Legion of Darkness of course...); arms od some of them don't adhere to rest of the body so they may be easily converted...

Unless you want an army which would be allowed at tournaments - in this case you can't use WZ minis.
But Necromunda's Cawdors & Redemptionists (religious guys), Goliaths (thugs), Delaques (stealthy infiltrators) or generic Orlocks would work lovely.

And they come with a wide range of weapons!

Chaos marauders mixing with catachans and cadians.

I still have 5-6 old chaos cultists... I don't think I'll ever need them, PM me if interested .

Cadians look too regular-military for a bunch of cultists IMO.

Catachans and Marauders alone would make it look as if only huge guys could be cultists. That's why I searched for some not-so-military and regular-human-sized minis...

If you want mutie like Cultists you could try the new Skaven Plague Monks...
