Pics are grainy/not great. That's what I get for playing with someone else's camera...

nice stuff but I'd suggest You adding some more shading on them - especialy on the flesh of anubis (if that's the creature's proper name :think: ) - at least not it seems to be flat;
and what are You going to do with the base? just desert sand or maybe sth special? :)

His basing is going to be pretty standard desert sand. He's going on ebay, so nothing that wouldn't fit in with someone's army. And he honestly has more shading on his skin, but in playing with the photo settings I lost it. *sigh* His skin goes to a blue/gray while the robe is off-white to a light brown tone.

Hard to say anything Lady, as you said photos are a bit warped.
Only thing I think need special correction arte metals, especially gold. A drop of brown should help.

Beside that I am always amazed by womens dexterity in painting minis with such long nails :wink:

Meh? why?

the minis are pretty nice - I like your job on the whites and othe light colors the most. Eg. the second mini's arms and robe. As Szary said - a wash of brown would make gold look a bit 'deeper' and 'richer'.

And the highlights on the first minis's cloak are very good! The skin looks a bit flat but it may be the photo...

I quite like the Anubis one! Some more shading on the gold but I feel the robes are shaded enough. I can't paint white even if my life depended on it!

I've gone back and inked the golds on the harbinger some, but I've left it pretty bright as that seems to be what was popular with ancient Egyptian stuff.

I took a class from Jen Haley that included learning how she does purples, and so when my friend Ollie said he wanted the DarkSword mini with blue and purple I knew exactly what I wanted to do. :D I was surprised at how easy that purple was, too.

And I have to say, my favorite purchase lately has been some of the off-white colors from Reaper. They are making "white" and highlighting sooooo much easier.

And Szary... I type with long nails. They're real, not fake ones. ;)

nice to know You're still painting :wink:
like these models but first thing that comes inti my mind after seeing them is lack of final highlight on edges of the model - especially on armour plates that should look nice :)
