LOTR War M?mak of Harad (Converting the beast)

Post by Komrad »

Hi Everyone!

Yep it's time for massive project no.2!

The first was that Ogre Kingdoms Slave Giant.

WAR MUMAK OF HARAD

Among the very 'few' models I will get from the LOTR range. This, I would say will be the biggest kit I have ever assembled and converted.

I'll be following GW's tutorial for the tusks and Howdah conversion.
https://uk.games-workshop.com/harad/modelling%2Dmumak/1/

First was to convert the tusk to give it some spiky bitz. I have to use a normal thread as I could not find some 32-gauge, cloth-wrapped wire.

Here's what has been done so far.

Oh and a shot of the sexy scenic base.

It is a nice model, I painted one for the store once and finished the beast (not the Harad on it) in an hour!

Here's updates!

Well he is bigger than I expected, way too huge to fit the shooting area.
Also I finally recieved the Mahud Chieftan (tatooed screaming guy from the movie).

I've added ropes on the howdah and looking at it really makes the model more realistic.

The slotta bases are just to place the Harad Warriors temporary, I'll remove them when the painting begins.

And for size comparision

I'll be painting this monster soon, I have to finish up Big Bad Gorbad Ironclaw first.

Will return to the Mumak soon.

Good luck with it! I've helped put one together, and it was a task-and-a-half.

I've added the 'steering wheels' for the Mahud Chieftan.

Also placed an order for the Haradrim Command. Going to pimp this elephant up.

Now to get priming.
