Chest of Colors forum

Hi, I have just recently purchased the models for a beasts of chaos army and have a unit of Pestigors. I was just wondering if any of you have painted them before and if you could give me any pointers on where to begin. I have started painting the regular beast herds and I am very happy with how they are turning out. I have painted them in darker colors (black/scorched brown). I wanted my elite units to stand out a bit though and wasn't sure where to begin with the Pestigors. Should I prime them black or white for starters? Thanks

They aren't done yet, but this is a sample of what I am doing. Any suggestions on these guys would also be welcome. Thanks!

Well... A long way you have ahead... But don`t worry, a few tips, practice and patience are key to the success.

First of all prime everything black again. Those on the pictures also... Why? because if you want to paint a whole army of beastmen it will be easier for you.
Before you take a brush, read some tutorials about painting FUR, SKIN and METAL - because their are main part of the models. Here you find some clues:

DRYBRUSH

There are also many more, so maybe somebody will post links.


The second thing BEFORE you start painting is to decide which colors you want to use. Choose 3 colors at the start: two colors which are contrasting between and third, which is neutral. Of course there could be more colors, or even on tone, but we speak about whole army.

AND you must decide what bases you want to make. Use PVA to glue little stones and sand on your base before you undercoat minis.

And remember to clean up minis form mold lines. It`s really boring and hard work, but essential for any mini. No matter if you are a beginner or a experienced painter.
