I think it's good, maybe some more highlights/shades on the gold parts. Especially the belt, it seems a bit flat.

I really like your base, is it a piece of wood or slate on there?

many thanks, the base is a bit of hand moulded GS then painted, i had a little left so i built a rock.

Great tartan, man! One of the coolest I've seen lately... Sharp and effective!
Also the skin looks smooth and natural Something I like!

What could be useful? I would define the fingers and other features which should stand out a bit more - probably by darklining around the fingers. Als othe face/ beard need some more definition - the beard lacks shaprness and definition. Maybe a thinned down black or brown wash all over it (and then the excess wiped off from the most protruding parts of the sculpt)? Just a quick suggestion.

I agree with Mahon - the tartan is REALLY eye-catching
the only thing I may suggest is to dark a bit chain holding the bag in the front

I agree with the rest on the tartan. The skin looks good too. And I love the base

I have only two remarks:

First: the "white" areas like the beard and the fur(??) around his boots, could use some more shading IMO. Just a thin wash (or two) of a darker colour could do the trick.

Second: the metallics could use some more shading too. The sword looks good. But his golden belt, chain and maybe the helmet would benefit from a wash.
The golden areas with chestnut or brown ink and then highlight with gold again. And the same for the silver areas, only with black, brown or blue colours

but - tartan looks good, skin :good , base :best of all mini
belt - washing , sword: shading , chain : black ink meybe ?? or smoke ?? or somthing , skin - meybe some celtos tato ??? , gems on belt : should be redone ... end meybe not in red (to similar to tartan) - cold blue , grean ??

as mentioned, the tartan looks very good !

this mini could benefit greatly from two things imho : blacklining and better gold parts. Blacklining is pretty straightforward, as long as you keep it nice and clean. Maybe dark-brownlining could be handy too.

Another thing is the golden parts onthe helmet and armour. I'd like to suggest a different approach. judging from the picture you painted the golden parts by starting with a darker undercoat, drybrushing/painting the golden parts, shading them with washes and highlighting them afterwards. This gives a realistic look but unfortunately it doesn't look good on pictures imho. Maybe you should try to start off with a dark brown undercoat, and highlight this in the same way you would highlight a regular part of the miniature. So leave some of the first layer visible, and start layering with regular brown and metallics gold. final highlights could be done with chainmail or silver.

the sword looks very good imho, both blade and handle.
