people online listing....

Ok, its not a "problem" really, but I wonder why its this way.

On the side I have something that says how many registered users are online.

At the bottom of the index page is a list on people online.

I understand that the bottom list only updates every so many minutes, but even when I've been on here and chatting with someone for 10+ minutes they frequently won't show up on the bottom list. They have been logged in for a while (cause they have been posting and using the shoutbox), but they don't show up on the list. In fact, I almost never see close to the number of people at the bottom that the side says are here.

Any explanation?

I don't kneaw if in this case is the same reason but soometimes you can chose option "hide my presence on the forum"

I f you choose "hide my presence"you see yourself as an anonymous user... so that's not it. I've noticed the same thing LE.

The listing is upteded only once in several minutes, it only shows active users IIRC (those who actually do anything, so if you are logged but do nothing you can disappear from the list).

The shoutbox is a separate module so chatting in the shoutbox isn't counted as activity....

Hope it clears things a bit...

So if you want to be visible, at least change the viewed forum or do something like tihs to become active.
